Default Exhaust/Rice Question

Ok heres the deal. My moms birthday is coming up in a month, and she owns a 2002 S2000. Shes always talked about making it louder, but she doesnt want to spend 800 bucks for an axleback exhaust either . So I was wondering if you guys knew a way that I could make her car louder, without having to spend 800 bucks. If you could help me out, I would appreciate it.

Get her an AEM intake. Nice roar at WOT and silent around town.

You could also get an APEXI WS Cat back exhaust system. Under $650 for a complete set up and the sound is incredible and deep. And no droning whatsoever. Any other exhaust besides the Mugen which will cost you a pretty penny, will most likely be pretty annoying for mom.

1. Intake
2. Modified stock exhaust (Cut resonator or have a shop cut off the stock mufflers and replace with after market mufflers).
3. Test pipe

I have #2, removed resonator and aftermarket mufflers (unknown brand). The car is noticeably louder inside and outside of the car and doesn't sound ricey at all, just somewhat louder. It does drone more than most s2k's on the freeway but I like the sound.

Just splurge and get mom an exhaust, or an intake if you want to be cheap

HKS Hi-Power ~$700-780 if yo look around. Or the intake will work but I think running the aftermarket intake with the resrictive factory exhaust will act like a bottle neck and yo might have poor gas mileage or crappy performance. (Happened on my civic anyway!)

have muffler shop just cut out the resonator. 50 bucks, louder, but not much.

Probably the best bet.
