I don't understand why cutting the resonator out is constantly recommended on this site. A resonator delete, or lack there-of, is the direct cause for "tinny" and "farty" sounding inline 4 cylinder cars. Either swap the mufflers out for some straight through mufflers(not Flowmasters) or get a test pipe in place of the stock cat.

For those of you that think your car sounds okay without a resonator, have a friend punch it from 3k RPMS while you're on the side of the road.

 

^ agree...I hate riding behind a bud of mine with the resonator cut out. It's a very high-pitched broken tone. It's only a little louder at normal acceleration, but at WOT it gets really annoying.

 

I don't see that happening. The Si has 40 less hp, and weighs 150+ pounds more. It's going to be my fun daily driver...more comfy than the S and marginally better gas mileage.

hey silver you ever decide on a ECU? when you do, please pm me. i'd like to go for a spin in your car to see the benefits of it. i have kn filter in stock air-box,spoon N1. 213rwhp so far. i want the j's ecu. if not thats ok too.

oh, and by the way, K series makes power like crazy. an I/H/E K-pro RSX-S will run door to door with a stock s2k. since the RSX and SI have the same motor(more or less) i can see SIs making similar power.

I luv my s even more after modding her! Yes I'm still debating ECu vs gears now!! I want to do this before christmas Gears I will get if it helps out in rolling starts anfd if no then I wil l get J's ECU, goign n/a power. I will let you know which path i will be taking

 

i think j's is really the best. after all it uses the factory knock sensor. god forbid you get a bad tank of gas! mugen and spoon both ignore the knock sensor. i am still researhing headers....most likely i get a used mugen/new rick's. its the same desgin i heard.

i am hoping for.....230rwhp with stock box w/ KN,ricks header,spoon N1,j's ecu. i know, not bloody likely.

Take her air box cover off for one day (don't tell her), she will get annoyed pretty fast,change her mind and ask you to make it quiet for X-Mass again
