exhaust ticket

Default exhaust ticket

anyone get an exhaust ticket yet? if so, what do you guys do? take it off and put it back on after inspection?

That's pretty much all you can do, but you can probably just swap the exhaust cans and get away with that. That is if it fits with your aftermarket piping. Or, you can get a friend that has the same car as yours that has a stock exhaust, swap the license plates and bring it in. But if your local police are really strict on that, I wouldn't try it. Here in the Bay Area, most cops laugh at fix it tickets and wonder what the police in places like San Mateo and Daly City are doing.

ic. thanks little rocket. also my exhaust is welded on so its gonna be a lot of work. are your guy's exhaust bolt ons?

my exhaust is weird. i got an hks silent power which didnt come with a catback and had its own silencer. so i cut off the stock exhaust where the equalizer is and welded from there

well as long as the exhaust it not welded to the cat, you can always unbolt the exhaust and put a stock one back on. Or even if the exhaust is welded to the cat, as long as the cat or test pipe is not welded to the header it can always be unbolted and replaced.

I just paid my exhaust ticket with my old car. In NY they don't give fix-it tickets.
