I gather from a number of posts that quite a few people have installed the TB by now. What's been your experience? I've been waffling on this one for way too long and need to know if it's worth it.

Rick,I had mine done and experienced some difficulties at first. I worked with jim at Proflow and after several weeks and much down time, it was taken care of and now works great! I'm very satisfied with Jim's professionalism and the overall performance from the TB. Go for it!

JUST FINISHED!!!! Took the old one out. Put the new one in with the help of a nice pair of needle nose pliers!(must have) Idle is perfect. No bleeder valve thing. No disconnect of the neg batt. Voltage reading was off by 0.06. Install time bout 45 min.

Power is nice. Nothing to say HOLY S*** about. Though starting off is nicer pulls more in the mid range(70mph in 6th RPM range)

Worth the money....yep!

Can you elaborate? What kind of problems did you encounter, and what were the fixes? I thought this was a fairly straightfoward instal. Obviously not.

1Y2KS2K, I sent mine in to be bored and when it came back I started to experience idling problems. I changed my MAP sensor and that didn't work, I took the TB off and used a dremel tool to file down the inside of the manifold where the air flows to the MAP sensor and that didn't help. So I sent it back and Jim sent me another one that has worked perfectly since. The problem I experienced along with the idle was when I would push in the clutch and coast to a stop, the idle seemed to stick at 1500-2000 rpms. If I left it alone long enough then the check engine light would come on and the idle would go nuts. Jim was VERY helpful and willing to do what he could over the phone. I am now very, very happy with it.

No Rice: Thanks for the update into the problems you had. Your info could be very helpful to anyone experiencing similar effects after doing the TB instal. I'm glad that everything worked out well for you in the end. If you think it could be useful, perhaps you can also ask Jim to give an appraisal of what was physically wrong with the TB you sent back.

There was a group buy organized by Pepe, that I think is still on going, to send your throttle body (TB) in to a company (ProFlow) to get it bored out. I don't personally have one on my car but I did help Tedster install one on his. Seems like everybody agrees it is a good bang for the buck mod and some (Prolene and Mingster) feel it added a significant amount of power.

Do a search on this board and on www.honda-acura.net for more details.
