Experimenting with LED side marker lights
Okay Rick, I think I'm stick with your review on the LEDs before I make an order. It's tempting to see how good to look like but I have no doubt they won't be poor quality since the prices do reflect some expensive and high quality foundations.
Thought I would bring this back to the top. I noticed that the company that sells these LED's is right near here! I think I may take a trip down there and see if I can special order some LED wedge bulbs to fit our S2k's since it shows that many of the bulbs can be modified to fit almost any application. Anyone up to the field trip out there with me?
I'm dying to get some LEDs installed in the rear of the car. I think they'll look so sharp compared to the current incandescent bulbs. Damn the expense.
I've checked a couple of LED websites, but it seems impossible to find LED equivalents for our existing bulbs - even though the manufacturers are claiming they're starting to be widely used by the automotive industry. Also, none of these sites give an email address, which makes it difficult to get any questions answered.
I see LEDtronics Inc are in Torrance, CA. (http://www.led.net/index.htm). Perhaps someone who works in the area can check with this company to see if they have LED equivalents for the S2K (The standard replacement types for the S2K are shown at this website: http://www.sylvania.com/bin/carApp/carApp_...S2000&x=23&y=11)

Rick,
Have you tried any of these, in place of the brake, tail or turns?

They look interesting but they look like they won't fill the lens with light(ie do not take advantage of the reflector) but just project a spot the size of the LED.
