Yes. Greg in B.C. The way I see it, if and only if you have something go wrong, it may cost you one h_ll of a lot more (a tranny for instance)! I believe you can purchase ext warranty up to a year after you buy the car.

I have it... but your price sounds low, make sure that you get the 7yr/100k/$0 ($0 deductible) HCW. I paid $1105.00. Supposed $100 over cost in aug. 99.

In Canada, the ext warranty is Honda. Yes, you should keep all receipts of maintenance and the work must be authorized by Honda dealers (I would request that they do the work also). There is a $25 deductible for each claim, however it is still well worth it considering the cost if something were to go wrong. Would you not agree?

"wallet safely stowed in pocket. "

Barry that only applies if you have the $0 deductible version.

I'm going to go against the grain and say NO for two reasons. First if there's a problem it will show up very early. That's why they are betting you won't need it. Secondly, and I'm not sure everyone recognizes this, but this is not a 3 + 7 = 10 year deal. It's 3 + 4 = 7 year deal. The prices I was quoted were $1,200 for 70k or $1,500 for 100k. Taking the lower amount, this works out to $300 per year for year 4,5,6,and 7. Since I'm fairly confident any problem will show up before that, I elected to pass. And I was aware of the #4 cylinder issue surfacing. If I change my mind in 3 years, I can still get it with some modifications (I'm told).
