My dealer screwed up on my paperwork so he claimed to be selling the Extended for cost. Their mistake cost them $800 so I took the 7 / 75 for his offer. Guess how much. You guessed it $800. They end up even steven. I get the 0 deductable extended warranty.
He also quoted $1000 for the 7 / 100 but I don't plan on that many miles.

That's the warranty I got too wirejock. 7 year/75,000 mile, zero deductible.

By the way, even though the major benefits of the Honda Care Warranty start after the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty runs out, there are a few minor benefits that start immediately: roadside service, map service, guaranteed loaner.

Now that I have major modifications totaling ~$25,000... an extended warranty (or ANY warranty for that matter) is a moot point for me... so I'km refunding my 7yr. warranty...

Plus, by doing all my own work, I save all labor charges on parts and repairs...

Unless I'm mistaken I think you can purchase an extended warranty from your dealer up to two years after buying your car although there is a surcharge added.

what would you expect to go wrong in the last 64k that wouldn't happen in the first 36k?

It's a Honda! My family has owned Honda's forever and have never had any major problems. If this were a vette, stang or some other type of sports car then definitely. On the other hand it's just a grand. Toss a coin....

My 99 Vette was more reliable than my 2000 S2000...

I need to look into one, but have been lazy... also been scoping things out to see what types of repairs I have needed. So far, the clutch I will let go as a TSB. I've had the water pump replaced under warranty. That is one more problem than my Vette had...

so, not really saying the S is unreliable, just less reliable than the Vette was

My dealership made the extended warranty fully refundable if unused. So besides providing a good price, he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Well lets say....the convertable top motor breaks! Ok lets think how much that is gonna run. Lots of money!!! My ex just found out her tranny is shot and its like $1500 to get fixed 72,000 on the tach. Would $800 3 years ago have been worth it?.....hell yea!

Its the first or second year of production of this brand new line of car.....super high end cutting edge technology in the engine. Might it blow up at 75,000 sure! Will it get replaced and I fork out...200 bucks to cover the linear deductable?......HELL YEA!(linear in that the deductable is nothing up to $XXX and 50 for $XXX-XXXX etc.)

I think if your gonna spend....35,000 for a car 800-1000 insurance one time shot.....go for it!

Hell you pay that much every year incase you get into an accident. It only takes one thing to break to recoup your potential losses. Car insurance it just sucks you dry every year and hopefully you never use it.
