Default Extended warranty covers top?

I was searching and it looks like a couple of people had their tops replaced by the dealer (cloudy plastic piece). I have an 01 and it has some kind of extended warranty by Honda. Are the chances pretty good that I can get my old looking top replaced under warranty. I have an 01 so I don;t know if they would count it as normal wear and tear for a 6yr old car.

Depends. If the top is ripped/torn due to a fault in the mechanism, such as the triangular part of the bow wearing through the top, then it will most likely be covered. However, normal wear and tear will not be covered - i.e. a bird poops on your top and the acidic poop eats through it Or fading due to sunlight.

They won't cover it even if it is the fault of the mechanism. They'll offer some type of good will, but rarely 100%.

i talked to the warranty manager at my dealership and specifically asked about the top being covered, and I was told what I posted above.
