Default For you hardtop owners

I have a hardtop and in my last house I built a hand operated winch system to store my hardtop on the ceiling. Storing it on the ceiling gets it out of the way and makes it easy to install by one person. A few months ago I received a Costco email and in it was a new storage hoist. I figured this would a perfect hardtop hoist. It's called the Garage Gorilla. It's designed to store bikes and other garage clutter on your ceiling . It has a 250 pound limit so the 42lb hardtop is no big deal. I still have to come up with a better design for a mounting system but may need help from a welder with the design I have in mind.

For some reason that opening in the ceiling reminded me of this:

great thinking! But is anything else supporting it besides those two hooks in the rear? Id be kinda paranoid if they got unhooked somehow. but thats just me.

Looks great. That should certainly remove any concerns about damage to the top when it's off the car.

man... this make my laying it on a blanket when it's off system totally obsolete . Def sweet setup. I may have to hit you up sometime over the summer through pm to see what you did. This is my first year with my hardtop and I just have that feeling of something bad happening when removing the hardtop.
