Last year I purchased a full size wind deflector off Ebay and it didn't come with anything to stabilize the top of it. From time to time it vibrates at the top and I was wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to keep it from moving? It moves less than a 1/4" but that is just enough to rub.
However, I substituted 1/2 round rubber feet with a hole in the middle for a screw (that I picked up at a car parts swap/meet at Carlisle PA last year) and used them as "bumpers"...... and installed them on the "roll bar" about 2 inches from below the top of the glass. You can probably find something like them at Home Depot or other hardware store....
how bad does it vibrate?
id rather not make holes into the roll bar incase i go back to stock
notice any difference with the bigger wind deflector?
is that full or 3/4 CitadelBlue?

It does not vibrate with the top down.... it does vibrate with the top up (as there is no backdraft to keep it against the bumpers) ....its full size...... I elected screw holes over "super glue" residue. If I go back to stock, I'll just insert screws without the bumpers...
So it only vibrates when the top is up...hmmm can you just fold it down when the top is up? or does the full size wind deflector rub on the convertable top?
i was thinking of using a hot glue gun. The hot glue will hold it and if i need to take it off I just peal it.
BTW...ive seen them on ebay...where did you get yours CitadelBlue?
Thanks

It can be folded down with the top up, but you need to remember to put it back up BEFORE you lower the top....... Got my through Ricks Accessories....
True with the Hot Glue If you use this I'd try a sample (maybe on a piece of max paper and then hold it in place.... just to see how straight a "bead" you can make...... if you are like me it might not be too straight and will look like you know what....

was extended wind deflector for older s2ks.. i have an 06 and drive top time when ican. but dont see what this would do for me??
I have an '04. This deflector requires the black plastic bracket from the 04-07's and consist of a replacement piece of larger plexiglass. The deflector cuts down on the "top down" cabin turbulence .

think its worth it? it works?
im thinking of getting mine this week if you say it does work, you could tell a difference
thanks
rugsr: If I forget to fold it back up and drop the top...it will get crushed?
CitadelBlue: You could damage the top.
rugsr: think its worth it? it works?
CitadelBlue: Its sort of pricy ($$$) for a piece of plexiglass ..... but I couldn't buy a piece of plexiglass and cut it and have it come out as good as Rick's..... and I've tried it with other projects.....
rugsr: if you say it does work
CitadelBlue: Yep it works ... it cuts down th eturbulence but does not eliminate them..... and since mine is an 04 and my headrest are not solid pieces, I have also purchased Rick's headrest plexiglass pieces as well......
