Default Exterior Accessories

I may purchase a S2000 this year and was wondering what many of you owners think of the exeterior accessories: Trunk Spoiler, Front Under Spoiler, and the Side Strakes. Please let me know, I really haven't seen too many S200 in my area(LA/OC area). Any comment would be great. Thanks.

It means 'in my opinion'. IMO, I hate them, with the possible exception of a front spoiler. Everything looks 'added on'.

If you do a search, you'll probably find that this forum is split about 50-50 when it comes to appearance mods. Some love them, some hate them. Do what YOU like, not what WE like.

Good luck getting the car, you'll love it.

I must say once I saw the pictures on these on this board, I wanted them. The front spoiler really makes a huge difference. It really catches your eye and really adds a lot to the front of the vehicle.

At first I wasn't sure about the rear spoiler. I've never seen one in person, and I must now say it's a must. When test fitting, after I pulled it off - - the car just didn't look the same without it. That rear spoiler is really meant for the car, and it looks like it belongs there. I'm really not one for wings, but this one goes great and almost looks like it's molded to the car. I still think you must see both of these in person to appreciate them.

INSTALL: The front spoiler took no time at all. Maybe about 30 minutes and it was on. The rear spoiler took a little longer. I didn't have the rear spring tool to replace the springs. But, I used some rubber tipped plyers, and got the old ones out no problem. The new springs really make the trunk pop up. It pops up much higher than it did with no wing and the stock springs which I like. If you add the wing and don't put the new springs in, the trunk won't be able to hold itself up after you open it. It would be a good idea to add the new springs.

You probably want to stay away from the side strakes. More on this here:

On the other hand, I don't have any and I don't feel like I'm missing anything.

definately get the front lip, the rear spoiler is pretty nice too.

the side strakes have a tendency of falling off and they don't flow with the car IMO.

the OEM front lip is the best looking lip available for the s2k IMO.

I also recommend painting the black rear valance to compliment the wing. I will be doing this in about a month to mine.

It really makes the back and flow perfect, and ties in great with the OEM lip as a whole.
