S2KSandy, the cop was right.
You could end up hurting someone or yourself doing triple digits on a 35.

When your car gets broken into, realistically, what are you going to do...
Nothing, exactly.
Nothing, exactly.
The cops flat-out said that unless there was a body next to the car, they wouldn't stop out to look at it. But they can spend all day waiting behind some trees or whatnot in a speed trap.
Whatever.

but ofcourse i said yessir... he was like what were you doing??! Said i wasnt thinking and showing off to my friend... he was like you coulda hurt someone.. i said... your absolutely right sir and it was very selfish of me.
The "yes sir, no sir, how high sir" routine has gotten me out of multiple tickets. I know it's hard to give respect to a cop that pulled you over just to hassle you. But you gotta stay in character.
As for the tickets, if neither has points then just pay them and put the mess behind you, otherwise you and the "friend" that you were following could go to court and fight the following too close ticket. If you say it was 30mph and 3 cars and your friend agrees, then it's harder for the cop to prove the offense.
EDIT: For that matter, the COP may have been part of the cause. If the first car in line saw the cop on the side of the road and stomped on the brakes, then of course the whole line is going to bunch up.

Well, lets see...there was a giant HANDPRINT right on the side of my car where you could see where the vandal had to leaned on my car to puncture one of the tires. The prints were clear as day on it. If they had taken the time to lift the prints and run them, I bet it would have lead to something.

Car vandalism / theft happens all the time and 99% of the time there is nothing to do about it. Sucks, but thats teh way it is.

The only reason that a cop shows up at all is to write the report for your insurance. They're not there to solve the crime. Real victims (the beaten, bleeding and dead ones) are in need of their services, not some whiner with a flat tire. You want better service? Think how much higher your taxes would have to be (or how many more tickets they'd have to write) for every parking lot door ding to be investigated CSI style.
I got pulled over the day i bought my S2000 because the officer thought the dealership plates were forged
He was real cool about it and i'm always polite to the officers (i do sales and customer service, so if i know how difficult people are for me i can only imagine what they put a ticketing/arresting officer through)...even the asshole ones.
