I am in the market for a yellow AP1. I have been looking at 2002-2003 because I want a glass rear window with a defroster. (I've had a Miata with a cloudy plastic rear window, and a Prizm with no rear window defrost. Never again!)

I have seen lovely 2000-2001s with aftermarket glass rear windows with defrosters, but I don't know if they work.

Does the 2000-2001 AP1 come from the factory with a rear window defrost button, and all the wiring necessary for the defroster? Or is the aftermarket glass window defroster "only for show" on these cars?

You can also buy the button and wiring harness if they are not already installed. My '01 came with the harness, but not the button. My aftermarket top with glass window and defroster just hook right up to it.
