Default Fall Prices

I decided to hold of my purchase, and get a MY2003. I am working with a local dealer, who said that they will match any price. Knowing now would be a poor time with everyone wanting one for the summer, do you guys remember how frequent printed advertisements were in the fall?

They said that they can take orders on October 3rd, the dealer seemed unknowledgeable about S2k's and I think from this site, I know more than anyone at that dealership

From what I've seen, I've read a few posts where dealers in Chicago would advertise in the fall for new s2k's at 29,995. Anyone remember the approximate dates, hoping this will hit my timeline?

as the time approaches for the 2003 models to arrive the prices of the new 2002 will be alot lower than they are now...why don't you just purchase a brand new 2002 in the fall for thousand less than waiting in line for the 2003 and over paying????

This is very good advice. I am in the same boat as thunderchicken and think I can hold out for MY2003 to see if anything at all is different with the car. Especially with all the hype that Silverstone will return.

Although I know that come October or November if I can find a 02 below MSRP, Silverstone alone will not enable me to justify the extra few thousand and hopefully I will be able to find a white or sil/red.

The dealer was making the same point, since there probably wont be much difference in MY2002 bs MY2003, but if I can get it 3k less, then MY2002 would be the way to go.

Thanks, I'll see what Honda has in store for me in the near future. I'll just have to hold in my frustration and keep my Monte Carlo until the end of the summer.
