I didn't notice this till recently but on the sides of the fan switch, the paint has been flaking off so that when the switch is lit up, you see the light coming through it. Is this a common problem with the fan controller switch? Has anybody replaced it before? The switch is cheap but I'm not sure how difficult it is to take apart the controls.

Never heard of this problem. Mine is fine after 5 1/2 years.

 

Maybe I should just use a sharpie
