I see a Spoon Sports Rear in your near future. Next time just weight till you stop spinning and hit the laughy gas.

No matter what you do, if you expect a "drag launch" out of this car, it's gonna cause excessive wear and tear.
Sad but true.

I saw a review in (I think) Road & Track where the S was compared with several "exotics" (I guess they were comparing the fun factor) where they managed a 4.8s 0-60 time! I can only assume that was a clutch dump under ideal traction conditions...

Actually the fastest accel is accomplished by moving your tires about ~15% faster then you are actually going. If you ever watch top fuel drag racing their tires are constantly slipping throughout the 1/4 mile.

rickycrx,
it's a noob question. I figure the best answer would be what's the fastest way to burn out my tires/clutch.

But think about when you first had your S, didn't you wanted to do the same thing? Also, what if you were to lease the car, can't you drop the clutch and have fun w/ it?

Do a search for best launches w/o too much stress/strain on the clutch, most of us do it. I drop it at 5K every now and then, but then again I am not into street racing, well, not anymore. No major harm yet...

I think the best results is going to be the launch that gets you to the meat of the power curve the fastest.

You are just going to have to experiment, and abuse the hell out of your car, to find the ideal launch technique.

My guess is that it will involve a lot of initial wheel spin.

I'd say dropping the clutch is better for reaction times - more wheel spin but the jump off the line is smarter
