Sad that such a great car is so affordable these days.
dont worry too much. you can easily spot a true S2000 fan from the people like elmmx5, oh by the way elmmx5 i take it you owned a hair dressers car the mx5, seriously you should buy the next mx5, the S2000 is too much for you to handle

we all purchased our cars before the AP2 came out, we all know the AP1 is a true auto x , track car. the AP2 is for the people who dont like to rev their engine to 9krpm and need the extra torque as they drove like old grannies!!!!

granted that some of the guys who have recked their AP1 and had to get a AP2 , unfortunatly but they will still be the ones who give the thumb up or the wave

Lol, you got me... I drove a Miata and loved it (clearly making me gay). Then I bought a used S2000 and that made me ever more homosexual I guess. I guess not paying full sticker for a car and watching it depreciate immediately isn't too manly. I just don't get the whole my image in a car is my whole personality attitude. I made my buying purchases based on how much I enjoy driving the cars, not how cool or not cool I'm trying to look.

Hey i'm interested in buying this car and my friend told me the older model ( 00' ) was faster then the later ones.. Is this true? Could some of you guys enlighten me on why or why not the 00' one is faster ?
yeah, if you can find a '00 s2000 they have 300hp and 200lb-ft of torque. ONe of the fastest cars on the street today. did i mention its only 2400lbs too. They are very rare. if you can find one for cheaper jump on it.

all the rest of the years had performance decrease because alot of the '00 drivers were out running the cops and even helicopters.

The fastest S2K is the one that drove off a cliff in a vacuum and accelerated for the rest of her life. Speaking of vacuums and short lives, that's exactly how I would characterize this thread. Enjoy driving your S, regardless of the year ... she's destined to become a classic ... if you can avoid cliffs and the vacuum of petty and pointless debate. Now that we have that settled, how fast is the 06 AP3?

if i lived in the states i would take you up on that challenge, shame i don't or you would be seing the tail lights of an AP1 pull away from you.

from a roll the AP1's have that extra 1000rpm to play with and it does make a difference.

the AP2's are for people who like more ease of ride and being too lazy to shift gears properly.
oh and gramps, don't forget your walking stick you will need it when you decide walking will be faster.
