I have driven Hondas for years, and have always found small errors in the guages. When I check with a GPS, typically I find the speed out by 5-7% (odometer reads 110km/hr, GPS shows 103km/hr), and distance travelled is out by about the same.

But I just realised my S is so far out it's a joke! I frequently drive to the local mall for groceries: what has bee a round trip of 7km in my Accord. When I go to the same mall in my S I find the odometer says that I have travelled over 25km, and the trip of course takes much longer (although the subjective time is much shorter). In the most extreme case, the round trip showed 40km on the odometer!

Any help?

 

 

I havce the same problem, but then again, I take the least direct route to any destination.

The info for the 2005 models isn't up yet, but they're the same as 2004.

so if that is a known problem with the 2004 models, then do you guys think Honda would correct it for the 2005 production?

 

It's been a "known problem" since the MY2000 (or as some claim, MY1999).

 

I've notice my odometer does that too, especially with the top down.

I have a similar problem with my S. It's a 2004, I don't know if that makes any difference. Anyway, when I take a twisting road in my other car, my Sentra, the speedometer reads about 40mph. But when I take the exact same road in my S, the speedometer reads about 60mph. But it's the exact same road.

Is there a TSB about the speedometer problem?
