Feedback needed re: Rick's windscreen!!!!
i love my rick's windscreen! took factory one apart in 5 minutes (pry w/ flathead screwdriver). put in new one, used fast-set expoy to close it back up. had it back on the car in 15 minutes. was some squeaking due to space between stock assy. and rick's, but wedged the snipped off end of a cable tie in the crack and no more squeaks. right away i went to the hwy and did a high-speed test, no problems!!!
Test results....
I used Epoxy and the rubber washers. Washers went under the screen screws on top. They were a little to thick but it doesn't seem to be a problem. The epoxy is holding everything together very tight. Lots of vibration. No likey.
Today I bought a short length of clear tubing 3/4" OD X 1/2" ID. I cut two lengths long enough to cover the ears all the way down to the bottom. About 4" each. Then I slit the tubing and wedged it down over the screen and pushed it down over the ears and frame.
Next I went for a test drive. 105 on the speedo before I ran out of room. No reflection vibration at all. Cabin was much quieter too.
Next I'm going to try and make them look more stock by soaking them in black dye overnite. It's an old trick I used to use to make airplane model windshields look black.
I'll report later.

Perhaps the flexing is from the actual secret compartment lid in which case maybe a strip of aluminium or similar on the inside of the lid would stiffen things up a bit. Slightly longer bolts would be needed to afix the aeroscreen then.
Just an idea..
