I've had my '02 for 6 years and have done no aftermarket modifications. Not everyone wants to modify their cars

I can relate to your purchase completely. I just bought an 02 after driving a lot of ap1s and ap2s. Mine had 8500 miles and a factory hardtop. I could not resist. 21K.

I LOVE this car. I'm one of those that prefers the ap1s. I would buy an older car in great shape and low miles over an ap2. But, I know there are different views on that. Just one man's opinion.

Mine does have a few minor paint issues - front lip is chewed up a bit, things like that. Really minor. The question for me is whether to spend the money to fix the paint issues now or wait. I have not made up my mind yet. Might wait a bit. I did upgrade the radio head unit (works with blue tooth) and the wheels (ap2 v3) and got new tires. It had the original tires which still had some life but they are 14 years old so I think its time and since I decided to get new tires its also the time to up grade to 17s.

I have a fleet car from my employer to commute but I find every morning I drive this Honda. Its just to much fun to pass it by in favor of the company Subaru. Like yours mine is virtually like a new car. It is tight and fast and just plain terrific.

Its one of those times in life when you find yourself in the right place at the right time with the resources needed.

As I learn to drive this car it is starting to feel like part of me. My shifting is getting better and better. Eventually it will get to the point that I am working completely by feel - not thinking. Its starting to get that way already. I think this car was meant for me. The car can be driven as a sedate little around town car or it can be driven hard on winding back country roads. Did I say I LOVE it?

AP1 or AP2, it doesn't really matter which model you have purchased or the price you have payed as long as you are in love with the car itself. Some buyers find great deals and some pay too much, it all depends on what you feel the car is worth to you so even though in some owners eyes you may have overpayed you really didn't.

You are enjoying the car and so is your family, that is all that really matters.

Exactly. You get to a certain age and you start to hear the clock ticking loudly in your ear. No time to waste waiting for the perfect deal to save a couple of thousand dollars. Need to get on with it.

there is no shame in paying a reasonable price for a good car that you plan to enjoy for years to come. everyone is in search of some epic deal on a car but the fact is that those rarely come along. i encourage you to just enjoy the crap out of it!

This I will do. Agree with you guys - beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and my new ride fits that bill 1000 times over. Think I'm going to just go drive it now.

Three months in and I've only put 500 miles on it. LOVE every minute of my time in this car. One son has put 7 miles on it and learning how to gently drive a stick shift. This car has been more than I dreamed of. So far, bone stock, but I am getting the bug to improve the sound system. More to come....
