As Wanabe pointed out, "never" use a high pressure sprayer on the S2000, or any other convertible. I would "never" consider using any kind of automated car wash on my baby. I've washed her a couple of times now and only use a spray setting on the nozzle when I'm around the windows. I've not seen a drop yet! The weather strips were never designed to take a straight stream impact so don't expect them (greased up or not) to stay dry under those circumstances.

I did get caught in a downpour one time and had a few drops fall on my arm after I got in the car but I think this was just water that got caught when I got in. After a few miles, it stopped and I couldn't find any leaks anywhere else. As everyone keeps pointing out, keep the weather strips clean and lubed and you shouldn't have too much of a problem. So far, my S2000 is the dryest convertible I've ever been in but I don't expect that to be the case 100% of the time. Sooner or later, they all drip a little somewhere.

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

I wouldn't worry too much about a few drips when you are washing the car. The soap helps the water penetrate into every little crack and seam. Back in my ignorant days I had a Camaro with removable tops. They always leaked on the rear seats when I washed the car, but they never leaked in the rain.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I get this when I wash the car, but never when I'm in it during a rain storm. As long as you don't notice this every single time it rains, I think you're fine.

It all has to do with the high pressure wash. I had a date one night and needed a wash so i broke down and gave it a high pressure wash being very caerful about the seals. And for about a month when i washed it or it rained just right i got thoes little drope down the wondow. But after a good greaseing and vowing never to do any sort of washing other than hand washing, there hasent been a leak since. Get some grease

I too have an 04, wash it frequently, and only once did I notice a few droplets of water getting on the inside. This is when I "scrubbed the windows," as you have done.

Ironically, the water did not enter the convertible area but entered at the small piece of plastic triangle around the passenger sideview mirror. Now, I am careful to push the water away from this area. No leaks any more, when I wash, or when it rains.

I think a minute amount of water will enter the car only if you force it in, scrubbing it with your hands.

Never use high pressure water on any car. If you wouldn't wash your body with high pressure, why would you use to wash your car?

If you read the owners manual it states that if you jet wash the car you may get leaks. I still do jet wash it but I avoid the bit above the side windows - problem solved.

The top has a slight overhang that covers the top window seals. If you spray the water above the overhang at an angle from the top toward bottom, it wont leak. If you spray at an angle upward toward these overhangs, you will get a few drops. Aint no thang but a chicken wang
