Default a few questions

I am FINALLY buying a 2002 sebring silver/black s2k this upcoming week (owner is in jamaica!) anyway, i had a few ideas as to what I wanted to do to the car when I got it. I should point out that the car has a hardtop, an AEM cold-air intake, and it's lowered 1" with eibach springs. just let me know what you think, and if you have any answers or ideas please inform me.

1) replace CAI with stock air filter (or trade...anyone?)

2) buy winter tires if i must since I live in NJ (i've seen several forums about how they're necessary in the snow, but I might be able to get a ride if it's snowing out. only thing I'm worried about is getting stuck if it's snowing after work.)

3) replace center console with a MY04 or MY05 center console...I know how to do it from the forums but I can't find it for less than like $500 on hardtopguy.com which is ridiculous!

4) replace side markers with JDM clear sidemarkers from Rick's (do they look ricey?)

5) also, to anyone that has a sebring silver s2k, how do the black chrome emblems look from Rick's...i thought they were interesting.

First off, congrats on your new car.

1) This is up to you if you want to go back to stock, but if you decide to keep the CAI please just remember to go out and buy a rubber stopper so you can plug the drain hole on the rain channel that is under the hood on the inside of the passenger fender. I use to have an AEM V2, as long as you don't drive through standing water that is the height of your bumper (ie. a small lake ) you should be fine.

2) Check what kind of tires the previous owner put on his car. Since the oem AP1 wheels are known to only last around 10-15k miles, chances are that he might not have replaced them with S-02's. Another thing that you can do, if the tires the car has are summer tires, is that you can buy a spare set of AP1 wheels, which sell for pretty cheap, and just mount some winter tires on there.

3) This seems like a waste of money too me, and I never liked the cheap plastic look of the AP2 console around the shifter, but if you think its worth it than go for it... its really no big deal either way. You can always wait for a used one to pop up to save a few bucks.

4) JDM sidemarkes definitely don't look ricey, they look much cleaner than the amber sides IMO, but what is ricey is if you change to JDM sides and keep the amber AP1 headlights. If you are going to change the sidemarkers then please swap out the amber headlight diffusers for some matching JDM ones.

5) I have a sebring S2000 with no badge in the front and a sebring Rick's S badge in the rear, so although I don't have the black chrome emblems, I think they look good.

Good luck with your new car.
