Well geez boys. I have to respond. My Fiero can too pull a dead whore out of bed. Many a night in fact. Just maybe not those "queen sized" ones. This goes into the "Watch what you post" column. Talk about no torque? You have no idea until you drive this 93 HP rocket!
an old coworker of mine use to have a fiero, this was when i owned an 89 civic hatchback.... 4 speed manual, with roughly 90 horsepower. we use to play around on the way home after work and it use to be REALLY close. hey comet, ur fiero friend is retarded.
Actually, my '88 Fiero GT was one of the best cars I've ever owned OR driven.
Lotus designed the suspension, and I've never driven a car with better (yes, does do better than the S).
Light weight in comparison to today's cars...
The power plant left a LOT to be desired however, as it was useless GM iron.
The italian designers did a great job however, and it sure looked good and well ahead of its time.
Oh yeah, and the 5-speed tranny wasn't GM, but a Getrag design--far nicer than the S's rough 6 (although nice short throw).
Supposedly there were two '89 aluminum frames built. Now imagine a aluminum frame w/Lotus designed suspension, Bridgestone S-02's and an F20C power-plant! Now there would be a Ferrarri-killer.
(Nevermind the never rusting, hard to dent, easily repairable body.) (And no, the early fire recalls had nothing to do with the polyurethane and fiberglass body, but engine heat issues.)
Ironically, my '91 MR2's little 4-cylinder puts out about the same HP as the GM V6 in Fiero's!
Oh, and an automatic 6-cylinder Fiero performs about the same as a 4-cylinder 4-speed Fiero. Trust me, I've driven both.
