Cool Finally Drove an S2000

So anyway, I'm only 18 but I've been in love with the S2000. I know that people might think it's weird that I know it's the perfect car for me even though I haven't driven it, but somehow I just knew. Well, I was right. My dad and I took it for a test drive and, wow! I had the best time. It was everything I thought it would be. It's so fast and the transmission is beautiful. I really wish I could have this car but maybe some day when I'm older and I have the money if they still make it it'll be mine.

I know that some of you are used to driving fast cars, but not me, and this thing was like a friggin' race car! My dad was totally cool with letting me have my fun too. I was just cruising in 4th behind someone (not close) and I was getting all frusterated and he asked me why and I told him that it was because I wanted to just downshift and bang it. His response was: "so do it!" Well I was more than happy to. I dropped second and ripped it, the back tires chirped and I was out like a rocket. Oh man...so much fun. You guys are so lucky to own this car!

P.S. with the way we drove it, we got about 10 mpg. There was a quarter tank in it when we left and we drove about 40 miles and came back with the gas light on.

I remember when I was 18. I was in the same situation lusting after a 95 RX7 new on the showroom floor. Don't worry, when you are 27, there will be better cars out there for you to spend your money on!

chirped tires downshifting... 10mpg... i wanna cry.

Glad this isn't a "finally test drove an S2000 and wrecked" thread but if it were me and it was the first sports car i was driving.. i'da been a bit more careful.

I remember driving a 96 Corvette LT4, it was my first sports car, and i was scared as hell... maybe got it up to 4K RPM lol... to each his own... cheers

I knew this was coming...yeah, I know I was hard on it but I've read enough on these forums to know how much I can mess around. I knew not to vtec it around turns or anything like that. There was no way in hell I was going to be easy on my dream car when I finally got to drive it. Like my dad said, "enjoy it now because it'll be a long time before you drive it again."
