It finally happened
Because they are easy to take, sell well, and are worth a bunch.
Btw dyhppy, all these stolen seats are coming out of all of our wallets, just part of the reason why are cars are expensive to insure (and convertibles in general).
My suggestion at this point is go after market if you ever considered it. You can most likely get a good deal on seat+rails and have them lowered and upgraded at not cost to you. Might even cost less then to have oem replaced.
Also to those of you who haven't thought of it yet, go dremel you vin# into the metal parts of the seat, that way if they pop up for sale around you, you can ask to view them in person and check it out for yourself.

Public service anouncement(sp) If you do not have a hardtop and keep your car in a car port, in front of your driveway or anything other than a garage in the state of Florida,
either tie a Pitbull to your car or spring the extra $$ on rent to get a garage with your apartment.
It is that bad in FLA and if this persist ALL s2k owners will feel it when it is time to renew our insurance policies.

Being that the seats do not have serial #'s, no charges will be brought againts the seller, but it may prevent the seller from future thefts.

I've heard that someone had their car totalled out because the price to replace the seats passed the price ratio of the car's value. Was that just a myth?

Jeez man, that sucks...Perhaps a hardtop would help? I actually installed tan seats as I understand that the likelihood of them being stolen is greatly diminished.
Once they know where you live, you're f.ucked. I managed to clean my 1 car garage out enough to cram my s2k in there now. I've been conetemplating parking it out on the street one night w/o the hardtop and waiting in the bushes for them...then blowing their ****ing heads off once they've got my seats out of the car so there's proof I caught them in the act of actually stealing my seats.
Goddamned thieves

seriously, why is everyone acting like it's a bad thing?
I was justr over in Orlando and had my badges stolen. Orlando is ****ed up with all the college kids that cant afford to buy shit. I would think about actually taking a dremel to the metal pieces. Thieves are pieces of shit.

Call the Police , then set up a buy. Being that the seats do not have serial #'s, no charges will be brought againts the seller, but it may prevent the seller from future thefts.
sure it can be good thing to get your stocks stolen, and get a nice fat check to buy aftermarkets, but what happens when your aftermarkets get stolen...insurance companies can choose not to pay you and say your scamming. This has happen alot in the audi community where B5 S4 headlights are getting stolen left and right....damages would exceed 2000+
