Years ago I hung a hoist from my garage ceiling and attached a rope with a few pvc tubes. The electric hoist came from Harbor Freight. It's simple and effective and makes removing and installing the hood a one-man job. I have plans on improving the way I hang it from the hoist but I haven't had time.

 

I'll have to check out the HF hoist next time I am in the states.
