Firebird Shocked!
Just wanted to share this b4 taking the wife out to dinner.
On my way to work this morning an "older guy" (I'm 43)with Starsky and Hutch hairdo came rolling up next to me in a new Firebird Trans Am (the one with the 2 honking air scoops). I didn't even consider this competition, but he had other plans. He put the pedal to metal and was off! Now come on guys who could resist? I floored it and caught up to him. I wish I had a camera for the expression on his face!!!!! You would think he saw a ghost! I did my traditional salute and sped by. He backed off so much that
I lost him in my review. All in a day's work.
Take care of the significant other today!

Great kill! It must of been an older trans am with the LT1 V8. Thats the weaker V8 that came in the F-Bodys. I've done some 1/4 mile runs with an LT1 (93 - 97) camaro and beat him by a couple of carlengths. What would be harder to beat is an LS1 (98+, made by Yamaha) V8 F-body. They have a little bit more torque and can do the quater mile in the low thirteens where the LT1 does the quarter mile in the mid to low fourteens.

Don't you just love that "deer in headlights" look they get when our ride blows past 'em?
I had a similar experience the other day with a guy in a 3 series BMW. We both left the light, neither of us in much of a hurry. But when I started to pull away from him a little, it seemed to effect his ego, so he punched it. I noticed this and as he drew even with me I downshifted and leaned on the VTEC. Blew away from him in a couple of seconds.
He was a nice guy, though. At the next light he pulled up next to me, lowered his window and yelled "nice car!" At least he had enough class not to take it personally.

Earlier today I found myself behind a new 320 SLK in a strip center parking lot. He finally went one way and I went the other. The next thing I knew as I was entering the freeway he came blasting by me. I dropped a gear and easily caught up, but he chose to weave like a maniac through traffic, so I backed off and let him go.
So much for his break-in period, because he still had his dealer tag attached. This car was the ugliest color of purple I've ever seen. I wonder if there's a forum somewhere on the net tonight with an S2K kill story?

What is this traditioal salute? A finger in the air out the window or just across the passenger side?
[/B][/QUOTE]
No, No I actually salute, a quick hand to the brow, just like in the military. The one finger salute is reserved for
the Beevis and Buttheads of the world.
Hey Y2kS2k I think I saw a gal sitting next to him with long dark hair and a cute face kinda like Sally fields. His radio was blasting....."we got us a convoy, 10-4"
