Exactly the same for me. I took 5 seconds off the next run after his help. He really shows you how much the car will stick...

Damn!! That sounds like Jay Parcon teaching me to drive his MR2 or my S2K. He usually beats me by 4 or 5 seconds in either car.

Last weekend we had a good day at Middle Georgia Region SCCA autocross. We used the MR2 (E Stock). Jay took FTD (raw time, all classes) and fastest PAX time. I ran second in E Stock by 2.5 seconds and Jay's son drove his first autocross and won Novice class.

So the S2k needs valve adjustments?

Nothing like a good weekend of racing to get you through the week, huh?

...totally out of the blue...but yes. Every 30k miles, or 15k miles if you autocross regularly. It's not NEEDED, but recommended. Put it this way...I've got some valvetrain ticking, and I'm at 67k miles with no adjustments ever been done...You can obviously still drive it just fine, it's just not running at it's optimal performance. I'm going to get mine adjusted soon...

This is the first I've heard of anyone liking the ES100's especially for autocross. Also I find it strange that you compare an S to a M3 LTW, they drive completely different and require different styles to be fast.

The cars do feel very similar, at least my S does to the lightweight I drove at PIR. The tires were fine.

Glad you had a good first auto-x in the S. You must be running in a huge lot if you're redlining 2nd; I wish I was still running in a large lot like that now that I have an S.
