First Drive with top down!!!!!!!
first drive with the top for me was the test drive and then 8,200 miles more with the top down including a week in the snow and a week in Yosemite...finally had to put the top up when it was pouring down rain one day.
I bought a convertible to drive with the top down, not up. Then again, all I have owned for 34 years of driving is convertibles, hardly ever put the top up.
Almost put the top up in Yosemite when the ranger woke me up at 3AM to tell me that bears were rummaging through cars and I should put the top up, car had never seen food in it so I went back to sleep and did not put it up.

My car was the "feature" car on the showroom floor. I had ordered it and no one was allowed to drive it. The top was down and the salesman did a very good job of showing me how everything worked, including the top. He insisted on putting the tonneau cover on and I drove it out of the showroom with the top down.
I took the cover off when I got to my sister's house, about 30 miles away, and it has never been on again. I had a 300 mile trip back home and did not put the top up until three days later. 90 per cent of my driving is top down since I live in Florida.
About the "mid-life crisis" comment. This is my 6th convertible and I am 62. I must have been "in crisis" for many years!
I made a big mistake when I sold my '66 Corvette convertible, I will not make that mistake with the S.

Have you seen any issues with the top being tucked away for so long. Isn't it recommended to "exercise" the top?
It rained hard in Feb. for about 2 weeks so 5 months so far this year.
I wont put my top up and down like some people, when it goes down its for the year if possible, when it goes up its for a few days of rain.

Damn, man. Two weeks without putting the top down? I had it down the first night. It was 50deg out, but hell, what did I care!
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Wow, I didnt read the date of the thread, only the first post and was wondering how someone could have gone 5+ years without ever driving w/ the top down in their S....Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I put the top down before I was even the official owner of the car.
Dropped it, took it for a test drive with my brother. Put it back up when I got back to the dealer to finish the paperwork and put it back down again when I left.
