I'm very sad for you - such bad luck

When the dust has settled and you've had time to reflect on this, I'm not sure buying another is the best advice for you. If you do perhaps one with VSA should be high on your list of priorities.

Good luck

Got the call. Car is totaled. Tried to negotiate, but they just aren't going to repair it. They're letting me pull off the aftermarket wheels and intake. For now I plan on keeping them, but if you want to PM with offers I'll entertain them and maybe make a deal. I just don't want to deal with shipping hassles and stuff right now. Thanks for the support.

USAA is the best! Just an fyi they just changed their policy on after market parts for 2011. They will now automatically cover up to 5k in after market parts under your normal policy or you can elect for a higher dollar amount for a higher premium of course.
Hopefully that beautiful car can be brought back! But in all seriousness they will take very good care of you and just knowing its usaa, there is the best chance that they will not total it.
Good luck!

A car is totaled when its repair costs exceed 75% of its value to date. I would be surprised if it isnt totaled. I hit the ditch with my S in November after hydroplaning and it was totaled. Car still drove, top worked great but since every panal on the car had just even alittle dent made the repair costs high. It was a 2000 Berlina Black with 115,000 miles. I sold it to JSenclosures if you want to see what it looked like. You can save it tho if you do alot of the work yourself and get all used parts. Then if your not good with paint, take it somewhere that will do a good job. For a good finish, make sure they wet sand every coat of paint. Its really noticeable in Black if there is alot of orange peel or not. Good luck and update us with pictures. Hate to see another S2k die now that they are discontinued... especially being an AP1.

Edit: missed the post saying its totaled. Sorry. Chances are it will be sold as a parts car and never driven again. Sorry to hear.

gahh....well im glad that they are willing to let you take some stuff from the car. those are some nice rims though and should be able to help you out with a little extra cash while things are simmering down. heck if i were getting another s2000 i would love to have those around. goodluck with the car hunt though..there are plenty out there and any for sale within a few months should be lower priced than summer time

If it makes you feel better, I got into an accident the day I got my CR 2 weeks ago.
