First few mods I'm considering
BTW its an MY04.
I have several items I want to start with but first off I am so impressed with the car I thought I may just swap out the stereo and call it good.
Ideas and comments on the following.
1. Front strut tower brace.
2. Lower mid brace.
3. Rear tie bar.
4. Spring set.
My goal is to to make the car as rugged as possible, I can tell I'm pushing it already and I want to continue to push the car hard. Overall, I hope to maintain or improve structural rigidity and begin to trim weight.
I have decided against doing any intake/exhaust until I have a chance to see more mods on other peoples cars so I can decide on an appropriate course of action. Thanks.

from everything i've seen, an x-brace adds more stiffness than any of the above. i'll have to agree with tenblade. and when it comes to whose should you get ... it's a strong piece of metal that no one will see on the bottom of your car. don't feel obligated to make it the prettiest one.
i personally jumped on a gb with speeeding, and it's worked out great for me. the total cost for $176, and it took me a whole 5 mins to install.

If you are "pushing it" and want it more "rugged" i.e. reliable, think first about accelerating your fluid maitenence. Especially, do a quick change of the differential oil (since it is the weak point in the drivetrain). Accelerate the clutch fluid replacement, it has been reported that it degrades quickly. Consider synthetic motor oil (after ~10k miles) for it's stability in high temp. operation.
The car is structurally tough already, no big need to add more bars, etc. If you do a lot of launching you will probably want to get a strengthened diff after it fails. If you track the car with R-compounds and slicks, you want to seam weld the front A-arms to reinforce the spot welds.

Get an "X" brace. Pick one that doesn't interfere with oil changes. Some do, some don't. I am partial to the MUZ/ Whiteline lower crossbrace since it's the one I have. It's the lightest, cheapest and works fantastic just like all the rest of the brands.
