First Honda???
My S2000 is my first Honda.
While it's a great car, I'm afraid it doesn't make me want to buy other Hondas. The dealers don't seem to be up to the standards of Pontiac dealers, much less VW or BMW. And it's not as if Honda's front drive cars have forged crankshafts and rev to 8000 rpm. Plus, Honda's sedans have gotten too big, and they've even made an (ugh) SUV.
I will keep track of Honda's performance cars, though. I have thought for years that all aluminum was the way to go, but hadn't realized the NSX had gone that way, not that I could have afforded one. Honda obviously has great engineers who can build terrific cars when they don't have to cater to the mass market.

There are several comments in this thread about the NSX. I have owned my NSX for almost 4 years and can only say it is the finest car I have ever had the privilege to own. I have never owned a Porsche, so I will not comment about them--they are definitely world-class. But, I have had about 25 different sports cars from Vettes, TransAM, 300zx Twin Turbos, and I am about to buy a S2000.
The NSX is underpriced! Honda loses money on every one they sell. I got mine BRAND new with 28 miles for $73,000 (great deal). It doesn't have the raw power of a Viper or Z06, but it is a ton more fun to drive. Take an off-ramp at 80 mph in third gear (scaring the hell out of your wife) and you can feel the balance in this car.
If you can find a low mileage one in good condition, do what you can to get it--you will never regret it.
My point is, please do not blast the most reliable exotic car made, especially if you have no experience with one.
Thanks

The S is my 9th Honda since my new 1981 Accord. Also owned Toyotas, GMs, Mitsi, since then. My Toyota was a POS, the GMs were boring gas guzzlers, the first Accord rusted through in one year, but I have always loved the way the Hondas had accurate steering (compared with other new cars of their time), were mechanically reliable (the first GM had 35 faults repaired in the 1st 3months), but none a patch on the fun of driving the S
