everyone is talking sense- listen to them- they are wise. Spend your $ on stuff that is top shelf.
1. all maintenance up to date- there is power in just basic maintenance- valve adjustment, quality synthetic driveline fluids, OEM spark plugs (if due)
2. 200 UTQG tires- I drive my AP1 with AP1 sized quality tires and have no issues keeping up
3. brakes/fluid
do that first, drive it over a few seasons, where is the car lacking? I made the mistake of modifying a previous vehicle years ago before really understanding what the hell was what- then got classed against guys who had been doing this for years.
good luck.

Ahhhh, the good news is the s2k is here in Massachusetts now, very close to home. Runner went to Brooklyn NY Friday. It was a long day to drive it back to Mass from NY. So my dealer has the car and is prepping it for me....can't wait to bring it home to her new home......should be early this week....I'll have a full report on the overall condition,,,,super excited!!!!!

ok guys, my dealer says the rear tires need to be replaced, Says they are currently Goodyear Eagle F1's......he's getting me the size info right now that's currently on the front and rear.....

Anyone recommend a good tire that is forgiving, handles and wears well, quiet in terms of road noise etc....not going to be canyon carving or anything close to that. Given it's going to be a a daily driver" would I be just fine with some OEM tires....or should I stay away from the OEM's and go with something that maybe rides quieter/smoother...yet still handles well...

I read that some tires actually ride easier over bumps etc etc??

any advice welcome....going to try to get the new tires installed before I take delivery....

or should I just stick with a new set of the goodyear eagle F1's???

thanks

They are good tires from what I have read and heard but do not own a set, I would suggest doing your own research.

Congrats on the purchase.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 aka Bridgestone RE003 rest of world.

I've had them for about a year, daily drive it, done one track day and survived a really wet winter.

Great tire for your needs you've listed and at a good price.

Deffinately reading tire forum/sticky posts etc etc.....spose I got to try some before making my own deductions and observations....would like to at least start out with a tried and true brand/model and see where it goes from there....

would like to confirm, 2005 specs... online tells me Fronts- P215/45R17 81W and Rears- P245/40R17 91W ...dealer is pulling information off the tires that are on there now...not looking to "cheap out".....but want to be "budget minded"....of course....

You could bump it up to a 225/45 and 255/40 if you want a little more out of the car but not needed as a daily. Tire specs look correct.
