First oil change
I'm actually wondering about this too. I'm at 4k miles and part of me wants to do the first oil change, cuz I drive under what the manual considers "harsh" conditions. BUT the manual also talks about what a great idea it would be to leave the oil in as long as possible, since it has special factory additives.
So, I'm torn! Do I change now or do I wait longer so the special "magic" additives in the factory oil can do their mojo ??

I changed mine at around 4500. I bit longer because the factory fill oil comes with special additives that aides the break in process. But make sure you top off the burned oil if it is. At 4500 miles I added about 3 quarts that burned off. Too much VTEC
Just make sure you top off with dino oil not synthetic. I use Castrol GTX 10W-30, it has the highest Molybedium content. Good luck and dont forget to always check the oil. This baby burns oil like crazy especially if you VTEC a lot. Hope this helps. Rob

I did my first oil change at 7,800mi, and my second at 14,700mi. Debating whether or not to go to synthetic in 3,500 mi.

The factory fill is not available for sale and only comes from the factory with the car. The additive is a high content of molybedium which helps seal the rings. Castrol GTX has the highest Moly content of dino oils. You can pick up a case at Costco for cheap under $20.
