I did mine at 6000 miles, dealer said it was alittle early but no harm.
I belive the break in oil has moly in it to help with seating everything.

If you want to know what the schedule is per the manual, well then why don't you look in the manual?

if im correct, they suggest the first oil change at 600 miles in the manual
600 miles is the VTEC break in- keep it below 6K until after 600 miles. First oil change should be done per the oil maintenance minder in your dash or 1yr - whichever comes first.

The '08 manual doesn't have service intervals because of the maintenance minder.

Does anyone have a PDF or know where I can find the service intervals before the maintenance minder came into play?

yea i know it sounds odd,

the seller of the car stated that he left the factory oil in until 4500miles before the first oil change, and that just seemed odd to me. I'm used to 3500mile oil changes for my ride, and i've been trained to change the oil after a few hundred km on a brand new motor, to get out the metal shavings that may be floating around...

It sounds like the guy knew what he was doing, and had good intentions with it, leaving in what may be a special additive to help the motor in the long run.

Sounds like this car is well taken care of, and i'm going to make the guy an offer.

Thanks for all the info guys, i hope to be a proud s2000 owner soon!

Thank god, I thought I was just retarded, I was looking everywhere for it and didn't see it in any of the manuals.

With that said I plan on following the maintenance minder, when it gets down to 10% I'll change it.
