First S2000, Just Purchase Beginning of June
So I purchased an s2k after graduating college, and I've been focusing on some aesthetics first.
Some background on the car:
Bought May 29, 2014
2 Previous Owners
34,xxx miles
Silverstone Metallic
Modifications:
-Tinted front and rear windows at 20%
-Fixed flaking trim piece around shift boot by scrubbing with isopropyl
-Replaced tranny fluid
-Replaced diff fluid
-Soft top calsps rattle delete with business cards
-Lined rubber seals with Honda Shin-Etsu grease
-Ordered AP2 V1 wheels (I like the look of 17's on the car)
-Plan to order Continental DWS tires for those
-Smoked side markers
-My headlights are currently with Dave "w1ingman" Parker for a conversion to smoked diffusers
-I'm trying to get an OEM front lip, rather than painting the eBay PU one I have. But I'll have to figure that one out....
Anyways, I'm wondering what else you guys may suggest for the car.
I know I want an AEM V2 cold air intake, and I've heard great things about using a test pipe. I anticipate putting a cat-back exhaust on the car that will have moderate-low drone. My company will provide me with a vehicle in November... so the s2k will no longer be a daily at that point. Can't wait to do more to the car!
I'd add some images, but it seems like I'd have to upload them to another client first??

Just got my s2000 in October of last year. It had the AEM cold air intake installed by the first owner. It really does make a difference!! I also installed eibach sport kit to lower it about an 1.5". I like the look on the OEM ap2 wheels with that small drop. Might need to create my own build thread. I just got a frp mugen replica hardtop... Looks so pretty lol.
are the rims OEM AP2v1's not crappy chinese knockoffs?
Did you change the brake fluid and clutch fluid?
have you done a valve adjustment and checked your retainers if you have an AP1?
did you do your rear axle nut torque procedure?
did you have an alignment done?
good luck and don't crash.
darcy

Read up on that aemv2 before you install. There are a decent amount of hydrolocks reported. I have one and will probably replace it with a pmr or stock.
Oem v1's, you should be able to get used.
I've been running the dw extremes for two years, two full sets. They're good for a dd like me, but if you're going to be able to park your s2 and just drive when you'd like to, i'd go with a stickier tire.
My next set will be different just haven't done the research to figure out what kind.

Everybody else stole my thunder. All I can add are two things. Sooner or later you will need a TCT; consider preemptive strike with Billman's. As far as the "Honda Shin Etsu" grease, you can get the same dielectric silicone grease at auto stores, 3M is good. You will also use it for brake lubrication and other stuff around the house.
