Default First ticket in the S

This is a repost I made on the Socal forum. Someone thought I should post this in main since Police have been getting bad publicity in here recently.

I have been driving in the La Mirada/Whittier area since I was 16 (and I just turned 23). I cannot count on my fingers the number of times I have told people to watch out for Beach blvd. south of lamirda because cops love to camp with the radar and bust people. The reason is there is an overpass that transitions Beach from a 35mph, to a 40mph. Well Of course this would be my spot to get caught, the single place I have warned people about the most.

Imagine there are cars in the left and far right lane. I stepped on it to get around the left lane car, hit the middle lane and passed them all up. Then I saw the lights of a motorcycle cop (SHIT!!!). Pulled down a road and came to a stop. The cop came up and was actually SUPPER FREAKING nice. I mean if all cops could be this nice we would have drastically diffrent thoughts on police. He asked for my only license since their are no plates on the car. I gave him everything I had and stated I just received my registration in the mail. He said "ok give me a sec" and walked back to his bike and pulled out the clipboard (FOCK!!!). He came back and few minutes later and said "Well here is the bad news. You were doing 60 in a 35, but I bumped it up to 40 so you can take traffic school." Thats when as nicely as possible I said "I appreciate that sir, however due to a previous ticket that was a large mis-understanding I cannot take traffic school. I would also like to appologize for the speeding, I was trying to pass someone and since this car is new I have not really mastered the feeling of how fast it is going. Also it is a six speed and that is very new to me. Is their anything you can do to help me out on this?" he said "Well this is what I will do. Wink wink (he said it), come to court on this date to fight it. I won't be there. You will have to pay the fine to stand in court, but since I will not be there it will be dismissed and you won't get a point and get your money back." Shocked I said "A thousand thanks sir" He replied "No problem, but next time keep an eye on the speedo. I heard they put them there for a reason." He wished me a happy night, and hoped he had not ruined it for me.

WOW.. I am thankful/lucky/shocked.

You sir, are a true rumpswab. It always pays to be polite. I'm certain most of the time police are used to being dumped on and given lame excuses. A little ass kissing never hurt anyone. Why didn't you ask him if he'd been working out?

I don't think I was kissing any ass really. I honestly told him I can't do traffic school and it is a new car that I am not used too.

Cool cop... but... I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up after all.

I've been ticketed by a very nice officer(just doing his job), and given a warning by a dickhead (had nothing on me after a 45 minute search for drugs and such).
