That I have not hit vtec while going for a drive in my s2000. I have an addiction! Today I was able to go all the way to work without using vtec, it was killing me the whole time.

Why are you trying NOT to hit vtec?

How far is your drive to work? I suppose I do the same thing, shifting at 5,900 a lot

My drive to work is pretty boring and involves mostly low-speed town streets. The only time I'm on a highway is as soon as I start my drive so it's not warmed up yet.

I still have trouble not hitting vtec though (4200 rpm engagement, I'm super awesome)

Sometimes it's hard to hit vtec (even when you really want to )...I have alot of low speed roads I have to travel...only time I get to open her up is on on-ramps, of which I only get about 2 and most of the time I am behind slower traffic anyway!

And I thought I was abusing the car by hitting it 3 or 4 days a week. Thanks, I feel like I'm being good to my car now.

I try not to during the work week honestly. I feel guilty for driving her already as it is for work. Then if I beat on her a little I have to pat the dash and say, "Your ok baby".

I rarely get into vtec when driving to work. I feel like a wanker if I wind out the motor in rush hour traffic.
