I purchased my AP1 used @ 80,000 miles and drove it RELENTLESSLY hard from 80k to 130k with no issues, even had the factory OEM clutch still in use! Factory timing chain tensioner, factory coil packs, factory water pump and starter...etc etc etc. I genuinely believe these engines and cars in general are built to last even under extreme usage so long as the maintenance is properly performed at the correct interval. My AP2 was purchsed with 39k on it and it currently has 68k on the clock(rolled it over last night!) and the F22 sees redline every single day more than once! The car is meant to be driven and driven hard, with proper maintenance I doubt you'll be causing an exorbitant amount of undue internal damage to the car. So long as you shift smoothly and don't allow too much shock to be transferred to the driveline. There's a member on here with over 300k on his AP1 and still climbing!!! Keep the fluids topped up and changed frequently and do not ignore any maintenance and I think any S2000 with the proper owner can do over 200k even if driven hard for many years of its life.
Btw...your avatar is my favorite on the site. Such an awesome photo.

I've been very pleased with it so far. 700 miles in with no burn off so far and the car is running great. Saying that, I probably will switch to Amsoil at the next change. Don't have any locally and I wanted to change it right away. Royal Purple was far superior to anything else they offered at the local auto parts stores and I feel very comfortable running it until the next change.

What other oils did they offer... used vegetable oil?
I had a mediocre experience with RP, I used to run it in my K24/20 Hatch a while back and while it was actually a good oil it had two major properties I couldn't justify the price for. One - It's PURPLE, it looks black and dirty the minute you pour it into the crankcase...I don't like this, perhaps it's just me but I like watching the condition of my oil change over time as I check it very often(and so should you! I check it every time I get gas). Two - It thins out earlier in its life than I expected, I do Blackstone Labs oil analysis on all my cars and the Royal Purple while it reported well it just thinned out too much over time for me to consider an extended interval change with it. Couple those with the price and I was looking for a replacement oil, for years now I have been using Valvoline Synpower as I switched to it after RP in both of my Civics and now I have used Synpower 10w30 exclusively in my S2000's. No complaints, no bad oil reports and I am able to complete 7500 mile oil changes without it breaking down too much before then.
I spoke of checking the oil and I feel I must mention it again due to importance. I got into the habit with my AP1 and I have found that the AP2 burns much much less oil however it still does eventually need topping up over a 7500mile interval oil change. As long as you own the car you need to be sure the oil level stays above the low mark on the dipstick at all costs, this has been the demise of many F20C's over the years and I'd be willing to bet a few F22's as well were lost due to oil starvation. Check it often and check BOTH sides of the dipstick!! Double check or even triple check if you need to.
I'm glad to see your comments about respecting the handling of the car, it took me thousands and thousands of miles to learn the ins and outs of both the AP1 and AP2 chassis but I am overjoyed at the ability of the car and the level of absolute precise control you can exhibit if driven correctly. Yes, they do have a tendency to "bite" or over steer at times and it will probably happen to almost every owner in some severity as the car is extremely responsive to elevation changes and road surface changes. Respect the car and what it can do and it will let you take it to the limits, however...forget for 1/2 of a second what the car is capable of at the limit and it will chew you up and spit you out on the other side of the road without a second thought.
