How noticeable is your VTEC?
I was on the way home from the office today and thought I'd have a little fun of the VTEC sorts. I stop at a light, am the first one in my lane, and figure now's the perfect time to let my baby show me what she's got. (No, this isn't the first time I've VTEC-ed her for those of you who are wondering! ) Anyway, I get up to 6000 RPMs, 6500 RPMs, 7000 RPMs, 7500 RPMs and nothing. No noticeable change once VTEC kicked in. Is it possible that at 7500 RPMs I still wasn't there? I've noticed a big burst of energy on other times - and at about 6500 RPMs - not 7500! That got me thinking. On a scale of 1 to 10, how noticeable is VTEC in your car? (1 being "you'd never notice", 5 being "you might notice if you're looking for it", and 10 being "there's no way you can't notice")
Thanks!

Warren, I meant to mention that in my original post. The car was definitely warmed up enough & had 3 bars showing for a good portion of the ride before I tried to VTEC it.
Richie, I thought I gave it enough throttle. I certainly wasn't inching my way up to 6500 RPMs and above.

With the stock tires, I could floor my car in second with traction...as soon as it hit 6000rpm the tires would break loose. Verrry noticeable.
That's the best way I can describe it.
Oh, and by the way...mine's a Prelude, not an S
***EDIT - Although I'm sure nobody really cares... VTEC engages at 5500rpm on the Prelude.***

Kim, if your car is still not engaging into V-TEC by the time you are at 6500 RPM's, take it to a dealership and have them take a look at it. Everytime I hit 6000 RPM, my car just start screaming some VTEC furry.
