You're wimp. J/K

I am the only one in my family who can drive my S. My wife can be a passenger if she likes, but not as driver.

Back to topic, it would be easier to learn how to shift the 6-speed manuals, specially the one in the S that is short throw and closely spaced is, with engine off and clutch in, try to shift gears from 1st to 2nd... to 6th ... then back to 1st without looking at the shifter to get a feel of the gear locations, i.e., where is third gear located compares with 6th .... Pratice this several times each day before start engine.

yeah.. im in same predicament

ive driven the following once
mr-s m/t
350Z m/t
g35Coupe m/t
dodge.. something (new pos)
solara
and 330ci

i did good on each maybe stalling once..

i dont have a problem getting the car going.. and im good on hills (leanred to use ebrake to "free" up a foot..

but im just afraid when i finally get my S ima do something dumb..
ive never been over 50 ina stick.. so i dont fully know downshifting.. and.. etc

ive been told.. no starting in 2nd due to low torque..i just dont wanna downshift... and then have it rev to high or something..

a friend of mine whos owned a 350z and now has s2k is gonna teach me.. i hope it goes well.. im just nervous of hurting the car.. was honestly thinking about getting rent a car for a day m/t and just ruining it.

my first manual car was a 94 Dodge Stealth TT and this is a breeze compared to that.

Not in the S2000. 1st gear can be downshifted into for increased power in low speed corners (IE: auto-x).
I meant it as a beginner comment.

You can downshift all you want, but you won't be engine breaking with it well. Like I said, it's for acceleration only!

I feel the s2k would be pretty easy to learn on, clutch is perfect and shifter is nice...i think it would be easier to learn on the s2k rather then anything else..destroying the clutch is another story, i do not think you will have a problem though

My S is the first manual car I have owned. So far I have only stalled it 3 or 4 times. No grinding gears either. My only trouble spot is the 1-2 shift, I need to smooth that out. Other than that, it's been a breeze. I guess having a street bike and dirt bike helped a little though.
