Default Fitment of replaced/retro-fitted tops?

I've read quite a few threads of people getting their rear window or entire top replaced or retro-fitted with a glass window. Has anyone who had this done experienced any problems with fitment of the new top. Does the new top fit just as tight as the original one? Does it leak water? I'm thinking about putting a new top with glass window on my 01 and am a bit concerned whether or not the fit of the new top will be as good as the one that came on the car from the factory. Any thoughts???

I haven't done the install myself, but it shouldn't affect the fitment. When the top is up, the frame retains its shape. I guess there is a slight possibility though later in the future the extra stress introduced by the elastics could alter the fitment. I highly doubt it though. When I have time to do this, I am planning to do it myself. I just need to convince my mechanic cousin to help me when he is drunk or something.

Having your cousin helping you when he's drunk isn't a good idea, better wait until he's sober to do the install.
