I see people talking about rattles and have never had any; what rattles are you referring to? Is the car modified or was it damaged? Wondering if I'll end up with a bunch sooner or later. Mine is a 2006 with about 75K miles. I drive top up & top down.. I've sold cars for having interior rattles that couldn't be fixed. I have zero tolerance for them but have never had one in the S2000.

I think most people with cheap hardtops have rattles

Audio production has been my livelihood for 25 years. One’s brain becomes aggressively tuned toward noises that don’t belong. It’s hard to turn it off. As my wife can attest, the faintest rattle from one of our dailies will drive me absolutely bonkers. I’ve nearly crashed the car trying to stop a rattle that she swears didn’t exist. All that said, my S2000 has been delightfully free from clunks and rattles. I do hear the faintest eerie whine under certain conditions. I wonder if my differential is haunted.

No significant ratlles in my 2000 AP1 with 64K on it, just an annoying squeak from the seat belt rubbing on the top of the seat every now and then.

Wow, you guys must be driving strictly top-down on glass-smooth roads...with stereo cranking...past active construction sites.

I've done more than my share of rattle-chasing, and top-up on L.A. streets, my car's still a symphony of cricks, clunks, and squeaks. From the top latches to the passenger seat belt to the soft top frame joints to the rear tray to the dash plastic to swaybar endlinks to whatever I try to keep in the glovebox/secret compartment, there's never any doubt that I'm driving a 20-year-old, well-used sports car.

Mine is on 800/600lb springs, big front sway with heim style endlinks and TCKlines, so noises are just part of the experience for me. It was pretty quiet when I got it in 2014 when it was all still stock

There is a tiny amount of noise I could probably fix in the soft top when it is up (Which is rare if I am driving it). But most others are just STR prep nonsense from aftermarket suspension components.

Same, I've created several threads about my "bowling pins" like sounds that goes with front suspension travel. Checked all of my bushings and endlinks, I've either replaced them or they're still in good shape. At this point, I've given up and just accepted the fact that this car is going to make sounds.

I just keep telling myself, "it could be worse".

Stock suspension?? My stock suspension was completely quiet. My TCKlines are not as quite (rears) but they are known for that especially when cool/cold. My only front end suspension noise is a little bit of noise from my well used front endlinks. But heim joint style endlinks are pretty much cursed to make noise after much use. But even with 4 years of use they are less noisey than the ones that came with the bar when new (Moddiction). Those were horribly loud from day one. Replaced them a month after buying the bar.
