Default Flashing "Maint Req'd" indicator when key is turned to "on"

I've noticed recently that the maint req'd light flashes 10 times every time I turn the key to "on" when I jump in to start my S. Anyone know if 10 flashes is specific to a particular failure? I'm guessing its in the electronics since it happens prior to starting the engine, but other than that I haven't a clue. Thanks for any help...

That means it's been about 6000mi since you reset it. It's a mile counter to remind you to do your oil change. If you have changed your oil, reset it. You can reset it by holding down the trip button while turning on the car until the light stops flashing.

If this or any other indicators show up on your dash, look in the owners manual, "Instruments and Controls"

This one is even in the index in the back.
