Flooded
It rained here in pheonix last week, real bad like rivers in the street bad..anyway...i leave school and go to a japanese store, needed to get seaweed for sushi and its pooring down extremely hard, cant see, but atleast i was driving my car
...but on the way back i took a side road because i didnt want to test the freeway with how bad it was raining and on this side road there was a shitload of water...it was flooded, but i was makin alright, but then it got worse and when i tried to cross this lake (i had to, no way around it) my car died, dead...and i dont know whats wrong...ive been waiting, hoping that maybe the starter just needed to dry off and that would solve it....but it hasnt started yet. Its so depressing, i want to drive my car so bad, and get this, on top of that when i called to get a tow it took them two hours to get to me, but after he did get to me we had to pick someone else up and take them in the complete opposite direction.
ANd that wasnt really that bad but when i looked back at my car on the flatbed i noticed the bottom spoiler was cracked and the front bumper wasnt aligned with the headlights and the hood looked open....this car has been through so much.
But anyway i just wanted to vent and ask you guys if any of your cars have ever been flooded, and what did you do about it? what was wrong?
thanks
Dave
maybe i wasnt meant to have this car (be easy on me)

Dude!
I am very sorry to hear about your problems, but they put this all over the news EVERY year when it rains - "DO NOT drive into the water." The roads have recesses that collect the water. Most of the roads have signs that tell you not to enter when flooded.
Don't feel horrible as I saw about 10 cars on the news last week, but most of them were SUVs. According to the article below almost 100 cars!

If this is your first year here, wait until August/September when the monsoon comes in, then the roads will be really bad.
Good luck.

Supercharged_S, was your S2000, supercharged? Did you have a cold air intake or lowered air intake?
Do a search of CAI and hydrolocked to find threads of other owners who drove their CAI-outfitted S into deepish water and ended up destroying the engine.
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.

the water only made it up to about the bottom of my door, didnt cover the hood or anything...but it was deep enough to kill my car, and im not leakin anything
...and my intake is part of the supercharger, came alltogether, it sits up about as high as the stock intake..

Sorry to hear about this, man. I grew up in Phoenix and encountered this problem many times. Phoenix is the worst place for it because few of the roads are designed to handle high volumes of water.
