Default Floor Mats

I just came back from Pep Boys and I must say there are some horrendously looking floormats out there, and I'm not too confident about the fitment in the S because of the unusual bumps on the floor and such.

What kind of floormats are you guys using to protect your carpet? Or are you going straight o.g. with the OEM floormats?

The only floormats I saw at Pep Boys that I'd consider getting are the clear vinyl thin-looking mats.

Thanks guys!

THose floor mats are quite a bit more than I was looking to spend.

I was looking for something to "protect" the OEM carpet, not completely "replace". If my carpet begins to show its age, then Rick's wool mats are something I'd definitely consider purchasing, but for now, I'm happy with the red carpet Honda provided me.

I just wanted to know if there was a certain type of "protective" floormats that complement the s2000's unusual floor and contour shape that's available at Pep Boys, Autozone, or any other automotive store.

Get Muz or Ricks mats, you dont have to buy the wilton wool ones, they
have others. Some people have had theirs several years and they still look good. Its the best bang for the buck in the long run.

i have a pair of black used floor mats for sale. I wouldn't dare put petboys or vatozone mats in the S.

I have a clear vinyl that is custom cut fit for the S. Do a search on ebay.com and put in clear floor mats. I got mine from exactmat.com, I believe. It is non slip and has gator clips to clip to the oem mat.

Sorry, what I meant to say was I was looking for something that would protect the OEM mats, not just the carpet alone.

I was looking for something that would specifically cover the OEM mats, not so that I would have to remove them and replace them with another mat since I am very fond of the red color.

I guess I'm going to go with some clear vinyl mats or something.

Thanks guys for the help!

I used to buy some cheap genuine floor mats from auto supply stores to go on top of the OEM mats of my previous car. Those cheap mats generally cost around $20 a set.

However, I found that those mats tend to slide around on the driver's side so much -- to the point that I actually felt unsafe to use them. Sometimes the mats would interfere with my clutch pedal, preventing me from fully depressing the clutch. Also, when you have these floor mats on top of your floor mats, you end up vacuuming two sets of floor mats instead of one set.

With all these considerations, I decided to sell my OEM mats and paid the difference for some durable aftermarket ones that were made for the particular car, so that the mats do not slide around and that I do not need to vacuum two sets of mats.
