I finally got a chance to take pics of my 1 piece mats with the grommet mod. For those whos mats slide forward this is a good mod. The only drawback is the grommet is gold. I am going to paint the grommet black so it doesn't stand out. Here is a pic...

I have the HKS three-piece German mats, and I haven't experienced any problems with sliding.

How did you put the grommet in? Or did you take it somewhere? I really want to do this to mine, I am tired of the mat sliding forward.

I really like this idea. I don't have a problem with the mat sliding but my wife seems determined to push the whole mat into the engine compartment. This should solve the problem. Thanks for the idea.

I like that idea too. I have a grommet setter. I think I'll add that to mine. Thanks

All mats are now available with eyelet. It seems that short of glueing the dang things to the floor that some people are going to dislodge them regardless

Is that mat black or grey - I am thinking of getting floor mats, but would like the color to be the same as the OEM's.

Anyone know - if grey (charcoal) is the right hue?

Thanks,

Yes, Charcoal is the best match. I am very happy with mine. I would have got the Black trim on them if I did it over again. You can check out a (not very good) picture at http://www.jakepratt.com/s2000 I have couple of pictures in there and they are an almost perfect match.

That is a black mat. I purchased the grommet kit from the local hardware store. It had the press piece and the setting stand. Then I just hammered the two pieces together. You can send a self addressed stamped envelope to Muz and he will send out the black eyelet. Don't know how the ones he will send out go together yet.

I added a grommet a couple of weeks ago and my mats haven't moved a bit since. I highly recommend this.
