Default fluids change

I going to get all my fluids changed tomorrow, and its going to cost me 225.00. Has any one done this yet. And does this sound right.

You could do it yourself for ~$50.

You are getting ripped off! Well, i'm not really sure if that is a good price or not, but it is really very easy to change the fluids yourself with some basic mechanical skills and a few standard tools. I'm sure that you already know how to change engine oil, and Xviper has written DIY writeups for changing both the transmission and differential fluid. I changed my transmission and diff fluid the other night, with a good fluid pump it is very simple to change yourself in your garage. Also, with all of the threads with people reporting that the dealership installed the wrong fluid in the diff. and it grenaded a week later would be enough to make me want to change it myself. Not only will you learn how to do it, you will also know that you put good oil in your engine/trans/diff. Just my opinion though.

Are they going to change the blinker fluid also?

Honestly, if it is a dealership and they are going to do engine/trans/diff, brake/clutch and coolant and it includes the fluids (and oil filter) it is probably a pretty good deal.

I wouldn't let a quick lube place do it for $19.99. I teach high school auto shop and it's not my A students working for Jiffy Lube, it's the C- students.

Around here,a typical engine oil and filter change at the dealer,is around $90.00.(using syntec)
So,seems like a good deal,for tranny,diff,clutch/brakes,and coolant included.
But,you should do it yourself, very easy, worse part is disposing of the used fluids.

If its a dealership, make sure they use the right rear differential oil!
