Default folding top when cold

obviously it's been discussed b4, but does anyone have any solutions for the top not going down all the way when it's cold out. i find that it sits a few inches higher than when warm. no big deal, but it makes me envy the z4 design.

also, my windows get smeared very quickly since they have to go all the way down and up just to take the top off/on. any solutions, can we make the windows not go down all the way?

I think you are standing up while doing that.

P.S. My solution to your problem? I never put my top up.

if you disconnect the motor, than it should be possible.

i put it back up and back down and it works better, too.

now, is it possible to make the windows not go all the way down?

Another top suggestion from one of our local tech guys ... the elastic bands that keep the bars in the top spaced will tighten up in the cold ... use your hand to push lightly toward the back on the overhead bar as you activate the roof motor ... that should keep the elastic bands from preventing full retraction of the roof. No need to get out of the car ... and it clears up as the day warms.

As for the windows ... I understand the smearing factor ... but I don't think you want them to stay up when you put the top back up. Might that not create a misalignment issue with the seals across the windows?
