Default follow up: The cat slept on my S2k!!!!

I have had my new s2 for one day and i found paw prints on it this afternoon. Im gonna try the cirtus or the cat repellant tonight and I am gonna keep a little squirt gun near the car. Any other suggestions? Remember- no killing, maming, seriously hurting (that includes bb guns) the cat, and I cant always lock him out of the garage. Thanks.

It would be a pain in the butt for you, but how about a car cover PLUS all those suggestions you have?

Just put a car cover on it at night. The cat sleeps there cause it's warm. The car cover will protect it, keep the dust off, and is really useful the rest of the time as well. Get one that's lightweight and thin (not the Honda one, by the way -- it's a waste of money, IMHO) and keep it in the trunk. When you have to park in the sun -- put the cover on and you'll come back to a car that's easily 20 degrees (F) cooler. And it protects for the casual abuse of parking lots, etc.

Get a motion activated sprinkler. I built one myself for my carport, and later found that they can be purchased ready made. Check out:

You car will get wet, but it doesn't take a cat more than 2 or 3 squirts to learn where he isn't supposed to go. After you use it for a couple of weeks you can disconnect it because the cat will learn where he isn't supposed to be.

Now THAT is a great idea, S2Kman. And you're absolutely right, after 2 or 3 times, the cat will NOT go there. Not only that, if you add additional cats to the household, the older cats will teach the new ones -- we did something similiar with squirt guns and our XMas tree. Took a couple of days of careful monitoring and haven't had a problem in 15 years since -- and there are now 4 more cats in the house.

I had this problem once along time ago when I lived in an apartment.Problem was this friggen cat would jump on the hood of my civic with gravel stuck to his paws and scratch the paint. So I started laying a blanket across the hood at night and we both were happy. Some nights when I'd get home late this cat would come running up and wait for me to lay out the blanket before he jumped up.....kinda funny when I think about it now.
